Coco's Barrio, Teatro del Pueblo's bi-lingual live theater and variety show, is now a podcast! I was a sound engineer and live-on-stage Foley sound effects performer for the original Coco's stage shows. Now I have the honor of recording, associate-producing, sound designing, and editing the Coco's Barrio podcast. Season one's episodes are a mix of highlights from Coco's live stage shows, new guest conversations, new satiric songs and skits, plus surprises. Season two, which unfolded during 2022 were all-new with fresh studio-recorded and scripted, sound-designed dramatic satires, musical guests, and interviews with Latinx luminaries in the Twin Cities and beyond.
About Coco's Barrio
Since 2017, Teatro del Pueblo's troupe of actors and house band, Alma Andina, have taken to St. Paul theaters, the local radio airwaves, and now the podosphere with original bi-lingual shows including comedic-dramatic skits, Latinx artists and community leaders, and – of course – musical guests – all showcasing the dynamic Latinx artistic community in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota.
